Interesting picture. Something of a forelorn scene especially with the snow. I wonder if the industry is still a rail customer, probably not. And the code line is clearly in great disrepair. But the trains still role by serving new customers somewhere else, and using more modern technology for communications. Kinda of a passing of an era kind of picture.

Nice Andrew. I spent hours there as a kid waiting for trains, I used to bike there from Waynesboro. The local is nice but I miss the big coal trains roaring through. The Waynesboro Model Railroad Club is located in the old grain elevator.

Cool scene

Very "Andreweskitc". The scene just says "railroading" in so many ways.
I like the building framed in the way it is, and the fact that it's not the newest
power on the point, though it looks like a scene where you'd expcect a steamer.

Classic scene. The snow really makes the mood, as John West has mentioned. Kind of a sad scene, but the trains still run and it's nice to know the elevator has found new life as a model railroad club!

And here I am thinking this is just a grab shot! Thanks for the comments, guys! I completely forgot about the subtle broken wire until I revisited the shot today. The story of getting to this location after sliding off the road into the gravel parking lot is fairly enjoyable also. I should have known my first experience of driving in snow would be while chasing a train! Thanks again for the kind words.

Nice shot... one heckuva chase with you, and that was some very nice driving on your part. :-)

Great shot, I live a quarter of a mile from here, when the new intermodal yard in Chambersburg, PA is opened you'll be able to get some more great shots.

Nice wintry shot, code line detail is a nice touch.

This is a great picture of the local.
