Posted by Tyler Allen on January 2, 2008  Actually, that is engine #45 renumbered to #44 to be an extra in the movie Racing With The Moon staring Nicolas Cage :) Posted by John on July 30, 2008  I don't think so since #23 was scrapped in 1950 and the California Western did have a 2-8-2 numbered 44 and it was scrapped in 1952. So that places this photo some time before 1950. Posted by Craig Walker on April 4, 2010  CWR 2-8-2 44 was purchased from Lamm Lumber Company 1944 and scrapped 1952. CWR 2-6-2 23 was scrapped in 1950. Both engines were built by Baldwin.
