"Beast" is right. They were also nicknamed "Centipedes". And given their maintenance issues it sounds like some PRR mechanics almost would have preferred having been bitten by an Amazon, Sonoran or Vietnamese giant centipede rather than having to work on one of these. Nonetheless, beautiful creations they were on the outside.
