Nice composition, Bob. Interesting bridge in the background. What's a Scottsman's impression of those engines - love'm or hate'm like the US Genesis? Or a classic like an EMD F?

Thanks Mitch. Unquestionably a classic - dating from around 1960 and with a deeply satisfying and unmistakable growl. Sadly now on their last legs, down to a few examples only in Britain, now enjoying cult status. These 2 are originals, but many have received modifications like different gearing for freight work and/or uprated engines. Those numbered in the 374xx series have Electric Train Heat (HEP) equipment. For the record - this is an Englishman's view - though I've had the privelege of living in Scotland for over 20 years now!
