If you look closely you will see that "new" technology-TV-has come to T.R., in the form of a shiny new TV antenna atop the building. At least they'll see I Love Lucy, even though the trains are gone!

I have lived in the area since 1968 and never saw a photo of the PRR station with a train until now. I should note that the depot still exists today as a house about 1/2 mile east of its original location in Beachwood. Today Route 9 occupies the right-of-way. The location shown here is where South Main St. and Route 9 intersect in the town of South Toms River.

No matter how MANY times I come back to this image, it remains one of my all time favorites. If only to have been able to actually be there, but I was only 4 at the time and had barely managed to master riding on 2 wheels let alone "chase trains."
