Thanks for posting a photo of this awesome train - I really love the "old" stuff that is still running in Japan, such as this model designed in 1995 and in service for over 9 years already. All 16 cars are powered allowing a maximum speed of 200 mph and a typical running speed of 186 mph. A very small number of these demons were built due to their extreme costs ($40 Million Dollars per set). Sometimes, you gotta splurge!

The Japanese have built a full size model railroad since the beginning and keep added to the wonders. I hope you get to some of the shortlines there and post a lot of pictures.

Japanese train drivers all wear white gloves - even steam locomotive drivers. It is traditional. Amazingly, they seem to stay white too!
