Marty, I always appreciate your comments. The strange thing about these caboose hops was the wasted horsepower and crew hours. CSX who operates the B&A now generally does not run engines without freight behind.

Agreed, as I said on the "approaching" shot. Why not just use the power to hustle the empties back faster - minimize those "foreign road" charges and all.
