Is it me, or does that gondola appear to have a red and white lensed gyralight on the end?

Your eyes are not decieving you. That is actually a "passenger gondola" used by the Niles Canyon Ry excusion train that some times operates in push/pull mode. In this instance the train had a locomotive on each end.
