The notch in the fireman's side of the nose indicates that VMV 6698 was originally an Erie Lackawanna SDP45 that was wrecked, and gained an SD45-2 long hood in the repair process. Also note that E-L's real SD45-2s had enlarged fuel tanks which resulted in the air resevoirs being relocated inside the long hood.
