Their rules on unauthorised train riding are obviously not as strictly enforced as in some countries!!

Might I assume that the Ford dump truck constitues the "across the platform connection?" Thanks Bob, for this insight into Ecuadorian rail transportation.

I don't know whether it's authorised or not, but on photo 158074 you can see a guy on the roof of a train on the same line trying to collect fares! Also our group rode on this line on the roof of a railbus for some distance and no-one batted an eyelid!
