I don't think they were de turboed just derated down to 3000HP.

Yeah, your right...I was talking to someone about CSX's SD50 rebuild program, and I thought they said they yanked the turbos out...but I guess not...from what I heard, they now have the exact tonnage rate as an SD40-2...but CSX is using them for MOW stuff...

Cool shot! My grandpa says they used to toss the ties out by hand to the track gangs out of boxcars, this was in the 20's, 30's and 40's.
