What's the chance of this line still seeing that train this time next year? Is the line in any danger of closing?

Was that a case of 'in the right place at the right time' or strategically timed? Either way, it was worth waiting for. I was in this area in 2002 but not so lucky to catch any action here.

I know of no effort by Union Pacific to abandon the Cane Creek Subdivision between Brendel and Potash, Utah. I waited at the Moab Airport for the train to come north. It showed up there about 1:30 PM on Friday, September 29th. I then drove to the above location and photographed the train. The slow speed through the tunnel (not shown) and Bootlegger Canyon had me wondering if I missed the train. Not so - easy to drive around using highways 191 and 279 that goes to Potash.
