The 75 ATSF Class CE-11 cabooses were numbered in the 999750 - 999824 range. ATSF 999111 would be a Class CE-1, steel, end cupola, model.

This caboose is used by the Borax plant in Boron. The Borax train crosses the highway in an uncontrolled manner. Crewmembers dismount from the caboose and stop traffic as the train backs in and out of the plant from the main line. The caboose can be seen sitting on the siding next to the mainline attached to several Borax hoppers or on the spur leading into the plant. I sure miss eating at Domingos Fine Mexican Food in Boron every week when I worked at nearby Edwards AFB. I waited on that train to cross the road several times on my way to or from lunch. The good old days!
