4012 looks a little rough, despite the efforts of Steamtown's highly competent staff and volunteer group. Outside storage is always very hard on preserved railway artifacts, particularly in a northern climate. The Big Boy is probably too long for their roundhouse and too long and/or heavy for their turntable. Perhaps it's time to create a committee to support the preservation of this locomotive. I'd be happy to work on such a committee, which, for example, might convince Athearn to release a model of 4012 with part of the proceeds to go to her cosmetic restoration.
