Notice that flat spot above the engineers windows (on the cab), that was because about the first 20 locomotives MLW/Alco C424's made for CP had the lights mounted on the cab not on the nose and orginally painted in CP Maroon and Grey. Later CP removed the lights and put them on the nose and added ditch lights. However C424's produced later had the light directly mounted to to the nose, thus the clean, sharp edge on the cab. Also you can tell this is an early CP Rail Systems C424 because of the stripes on the cab and nose. Awesome shot. Thanks very much!
