I think the hood in Metairie needs new track and new Locomotives because that Alco looks a little rusty.

CRI&P 745 is supposedly the oldest remaining RS-1 in existence. She needs some TLC!

Yes, LASTA believes that "Agnes" is the oldest RS-1 in existence, and therefore the grandmother of every road-switcher locomotive. See Louis Saillard's article "The Importance of Being Agnes" in the Winter 2009 issue of our newsletter, 745 Journal, pp. 2-4. Also, although she got some paint a year or so ago, now she is sidelined with mechanical problems; for details, see Bill Morris, "Our Agnes: R.I.P.?", 745 Journal, Fall 2008, p. 2.

Finally got around to reading the newsletter articles-some really good info in there. Thanks.

Did some one catch it on fire

Andrew, I checked on your question. We were told that yes, there was a fire while Agnes was still at PPG in the Lake Charles, LA area, before the Louisiana Railway Heritage Trust trust received her.
