Very nice picture. I am somewhat surprised that we don't see more pictures of this very scenic piece of railroad, although train frequency has been a challenge. You're certainly right about the fog! John West

Very nice, glad to see it as POTW, this is the ultimate summer time photo, giving that summer time light is hard to work with and that i live in Tucson, AZ meaning water and the COOL beach is something we need. Great shot, suprised UP had some clean locomotives on hand! Pat Lorenz

Congrats on POTW RichPac! Knew this was a gem when I first saw it on TO. Still weird I watched and photographed this exact same QRVDO-03 train 24 hours before in Oakland. Well worth the small gas guzzling drive north of L.A.. Thank UP slow dispatching in the Bay Area for delaying this train - it should have come through SB/Ventura in the wee hours of the night!

A well deserved POTW, next up is People's Choice. :) As always, great shot!

A beach, breaking waves, and a train. What could be better than that?

Great image...I can hear the surf pounding the shore, along with the seagulls squaking! Nicely done.

Simply the most beauteous Union Pacific shot I have seen in many years. I would hope the crews appreciate the wonders they pass in their daily excercise of their duties.............we in Chicago working for the UP wish we had it so good !
