This photo inspired me to do something similar with my railroad's locomotive fleet on my model railroad. Though, i went one step further and had the locomotives semi-permanently coupled, and numbered 1A and 1B. I argued that it was all 1 locomotive, and they did this as a cheap way to get good power, and good visibility.
