Awesome, i have never seen anything quite like this before. I know of the subway train doing this in Chicago, but never knew of any frieght. Those clean units make the shot. Pat lorenz

Excellent photograph; why are the ditch lights off? The MTA Gold Line just isn't the same.

Thanks for the comments. The right of way is now used by the Los Angeles MTA Gold Line, which opened in 2003 and features double-track, catenary, and LRV's. For a comparison shot of this scene without the smog, see http://www.railpictures.net/viewphoto.php?id=129620.
