Nice catch, Nick!

Thanks, Chris! This was a very interesting day. I saw the light of a westbound approaching very slowly. When it got closer, the train went into emergency (the train to the right of the photo) and couldn't move. Going into emergency wasn't its only problem. The train also had trouble with its ETD (End train device). It's a federal law that all trains must have those in working order. After about two hours, they reported over the scanner that they were unable to fix the problem. They also reported over the scanner that they may bring the second unit (a DRGW SD40T-2 5398 patched for NREX) to the turn table and have it lead the train. They then decided that wouldn't be a great idea. About an hour later, a rescue train from Cicero arrived to hook up to the train. The train had to head west down to the switch (which is not very far from where the photo was taken) to get on the same track as the BN. He had to allow a Metra to pass through before heading back east to hook up to the train. The train was getting ready to head back east when S-BPATAC announced over the scanner that they fixed the problems. Talk about bad timing. This wasn't very lucky for the crew of the light load, but I was very lucky to see this very nice lash-up. The GP60M then lead the light load back to Cicero. Thanks again for your kind comments. Take care. Nick
