Brighton Park is not an interlocking, it is a non-interlocked junction which is why it is so unique. By definition an interlocking has a signaling system in place to allow for the through passage of trains. All trains approaching Brighton Park must come to a stop before proceeding thorugh the junction since it is not interlocked with a coordinated signal system.
