They were bought by the former owner of the Waccamaw Coast Line (Carolina Southern owns it now) and just sat for years. The owner had his own personal collection of old stuff including some cabooses, heavyweight passenger cars, track equipment, and a steam engine. All of it sat and has either been sold off or scrapped throughout the years. There are still some passenger cars around the Conway area as well as some track equipment, but it is still collecting dust, weeds, and wasp nests...

A shame - how do you go about purchasing old stock like this before they destroy it? And any idea of the costs involved - I have no idea, but imagine it would take a few bucks to move and store the units.
