Chuck the tunnel up at Belmont was saved by the Nebraska Historical Society since it was the only railroad tunnel ever in Nebraska. The BN daylighted next to the tunnel and use the tunnel as an access road. One can still drive portions of the old BN main on Crawford. Thanks for this amazing look into the past. I often wondered and tried to picture how the original line went as I pass through there on the train.
