Built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division in November 1992, F59PH 868 is, at 33½ years old, one of Metrolink’s oldest locomotives. This diesel is seen on Orange County Line train 611, heading from Laguna Niguel/Mission Viejo to Los Angeles. This locomotive is still in service during a downsizing of service due to the newer EMD F125s having repair issues. (The Orange County Line’s service was cut from 14 trains each way per day to 12. Other lines had more draconian cuts, while others had fewer.)
