AMTK 203, Amtrak's "Operation Lifesaver" P42DC honoring that organization's 50th Anniversary, reverses underneath 18th Street south of downtown Chicago and across the former Pennsylvania Railroad lift bridge over the Chicago River with the southbound "City of New Orleans" trainset. As there is no direct connection for southbounds to make the turn onto the former Illinois Central mainline, Amtrak trains destined for that route must perform this reverse move across the bridge, then use a connection in the southeast quadrant between Amtrak and CN just south of the bridge to move forward onto the IC line for the journey south.
