A variety of Amtrak maintenance equipment is seen west of Secaucus Junction station, performing ballast work for the Portal North Bridge track 3 cutover project. The project required a full shutdown of track 3 over the "old Portal" Bridge, connecting it to the new Portal North Bridge. As of the time of posting, the project was looking to be completed on schedule, with full service to be resumed on Monday March 16, 2026, with westbound traffic operating over the new bridge and eastbound traffic over the old bridge.
