| I read the Granite City ore trains might date back as far as the 70s. The plant was finally idled in 2023 after a few years of up-and-down cycles with the steel industry. Mike Cleary mentioned the SD60s with a "kicker" setup that came in the early 90s replaced these 4-SD40 sets that were used on these heavy trains. I don't have many photos of this setup, so I'm glad I had at least 1. Here a load is about to slam over the CCP diamond at East Dubuque.
