| Amtrak 48 with one of Amtrak's newer ALC-42 "charger" locomotives leading passes the Rensselaer shops. While these locomotives have been in use across other parts of the Amtrak system for a couple years now, they have only been in revenue service on the "Lakeshore Limited" for about a week now. This marks the beginning of the end for the older GE P42DC locomotives that have been used across the northeast since the late 90s. |
