Remarks & Notes
Climbing southern California's Cajon Pass is BNSF train L-CAL0121-20, a local that originated at Kaiser on Metrolink's San Gabriel Sub, and is heading for BNSF's yard in Barstow. Powering this train are BNSF Dash 8-40BW 542 (ex-ATSF 542), GP60M 159 (ex-ATSF 159), GP60B 347 (ex-ATSF 347) and SD40-2 6746 (ex-ATSF 5087). Kaiser, on trackage that was formerly Santa Fe's, is the yard for California Steel Industries (formerly Kaiser Steel) in Fontana, thus all the cars carrying steel in this train.

Since this photo was taken, BNSF GP60 159 was renumbered BNSF 142 in May 2014, replacing the original GP60 142 with was destroyed in a wreck on May 19, 2004. Also, BNSF GP60B was rebuilt into GP60 170 in July 2010. In 2014 it was renumbered BN (!) 200, then BNSF 200 in December 2017.
