Looking down Colorado Railroad Museum's turntable, we see three diesel critter motors that are used from time to time to reposition exhibits at the Golden, Colorado museum. In the center is the Golden City & San Juan Railroad's #4, a GE 55 Ton engine built in 1955. To the left we see the Durango & Silverton Railroad's #7, a GE 87 Ton motor built in 1975. And to the right is the Durango $ Silverton Railroad's #50, a 30 Ton diesel motor built in 1937.
While Colorado's narrow gauge steam railroads are the major draw, the state is also home to several diesel-powered tourist railroads that take passengers to the Royal Gorge and other sites.
