Remarks & Notes
Winter Westerner. New Hope Railroad (NHRR) GP39 no. 901 is seen leading the North Pole Express east out of Lahaska Station as it returns to the namesake town. The unit is a recent arrival to the NHRR, formerly a work / freight locomotive for the Utah Transit Authority (UTA) FrontRunner commuter rail system in Salt Lake City, arriving here in August 2024. It was built in 1967 as Louisville & Nashville (L&N) GP40 no. 3025, and served Seaboard (no. 6821), CSX (no. 6821), and Virginia Railroad Express (GP39 no. V07) prior to UTA service.
