Southern California's Cajon Pass sees about 100 trains per day, from both BNSF Railway and Union Pacific (plus two Amtrak trains per day as well), and they tend to be long, heavy freights necessitating the need for triple-track (as well as the former Southern Pacific "Palmdale Cutoff" mainline). So this little four-car Amtrak special, BNSF A 961 1 30A, looks a little lost in this land of giants! The special, heading from Los Angeles to Modesto (and then on to Sacramento the next day), consists of P42DC 156, wearing the Phase I scheme it received as one of the carrier's 40th Anniversary engines in 2011.
