Remarks & Notes
Swan Song BPRR 3396, the last active 6-axle EMD on the Buffalo and Pittsburgh, leads SIRI (Salamanca, NY to Punxsutawney, PA) on the home stretch to Riker Yard. Though 3396 wears Union Pacific colors, it was built in 1968 as PRR SD45 #6192, and was one of the last locomotives the railroad took delivery of before the Penn Central merger. Nearly 60 years later, it's still running strong, now back in its home state of Pennsylvania. Since this photo was taken, it has been sent off to the Wellsboro & Corning Railroad, and its future is uncertain.
