SDNX 3002, one of Coaster's two F59PHI reserve locomotives was recently spotted with "SLPX" reporting marks, denoting it has been sold for use on Mexico's new Ferrocarril del Istmo de Tehuantepec (Railway of the Isthmus of Tehuantepec), a Mexican government project rehabilitating multiple rail lines in the Gulf of Mexico for freight and passenger service. More than half a decade before it being sent to the San Luis Potosi shops for overhaul, 3002 shoves a Coaster train to San Diego. How the times have changed! |
