The Rhaetian Railway's self-propelled steam snow blower for the Bernina line, X rot d # 9213, built by SLM in 1910 for the then independent Bernina Railway as BB # 1051, has been overhauled over several years and is now fully operational again. The machine, with six powered axles in two bogies, undertook several days of training runs for staff, not only on the former Bernina Railway, but also on sections of the RhB's main network, between St. Moritz and S-chanf and from Bever to Spinas. As can be clearly seen in this side view, the front of the two powered bogies was positioned as close as possible to the centrifugal wheel, primarily for weight distribution reasons.
