Arriving in Barstow as it travels across the Needles Sub, and the stark Mojave Desert, is BNSF Railway "Container Intermodal" S-LPCLHA1-04L, bound for the Los Angeles Harbor from Chicago's Logistics Park. Two EMD SD70ACe diesels, 9075 and 9204, along with a pair of GE Dash 9-44CW locomotives (5104 and 5002) are powering this 87-car train, stretching for 7762 feet (2.36 km).
