| A lot of people say that they find the KYLE by driving the length of the railroad and "happen" into the 1 of the trains. We got lucky enough our 1st morning we ran into this westbound Limon bound freight outside of Flagler. The day before the train had stalled climbing the big grade into Flagler and had to double overnight. Now the crew works west with the 2nd half as the sunrise lights up eastern Colorado. Lots of old Rock Island signals remain on the west end of the railroad that once featured the Rocket Mountain Rocket screaming along at 79mph on a 5.50-6 hour schedule from Courtland to Limon. |
