Built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division for the Southern Railway, MP15DC 2426 became Norfolk Southern 2426 upon the merger of the Norfolk & Western and Southern Railway in 1982. (Yikes! That was 43 years ago!!!)
This 1500-horsepower end-cab switcher was eventually sold by NS to the Reading Blue Mountain & Northern (commonly called just Reading & Northern), becoming RBMN 1542.
