Reading Blue Mountain & Northern owns an A-B set of F-units which were acquired from Norfolk Southern. The A-unit was built by General Motors Electro-Motive Division in January 1952 as Baltimore & Ohio F7A 937, later renumbered to B&O 4580. It was eventually old to Maryland Department of Transportation and numbered 7181, and it later became MARC 81. From there it as numbered RPCX 101, then RPCX 1010. After being cauired by NS, it first wore number 4270 and then NS 270. At some point in all this, this locomotive was upgraded to an "F9A".
As for the B-unit, it was built as by EMD as Chicago Great Western F7B 113D in October 1950. After the Chiago & North Western acquired the CGW, this locomotive wore number CNW 113D, and was then renumbered CNW 317 and, later still, CNW 410. Ths unit also passed thorugh RPCX’ fleet, as RPCX 201, then RPCX 2010. And, eventually, NS 4275.
