As I scan a lot of my early stuff, I see I went to a lot of places you wouldn't be caught dead in nowadays. It seems like in the 90s no one cared what you did; we were just a boy and his mom taking photos. I don't remember anything said to us either. As in the case here, my mother and I were shooting a train at the west end of the bridge when the bridge operator opened the door and shouted to come on up. So we spent an hour shooting trains from the bridge and chit-chatting. It was nice to find this access back then. An eastbound coal train has just departed Clinton as it crosses the Mississippi River.
