Wining and Dining.
The Napa Valley Wine Train idles in its namesake town of Napa, boarding passengers for the evening's fine dining excursion through the scenic valley. The operation's fleet of ALCO/MLW FPA-4 locomotives have been supplanted by this recent arrival, NZE15B no. 1864, with the four older - and non-Tier 4 compliant - locomotives sidelined. A second new locomotive from Knoxville Locomotive Works will eventually add to the fleet, making the ALCOs retirement permanent.
From the vineyards of Napa Valley to the canyons of the Coastal Range to famed theme parks like Disneyland and Knott's Berry Farm, California's tourist railroads and museums offers a wide variety of experiences for the rail enthusiast.
