A westbound Atchison Topeka & Santa Fe Railway freight rolls through San Bernardino after conquering Cajon Pass. ATSF GP35 3422 (ex-ATSF 1422) leads the train, teamed with Baltimore & Ohio GP40 3725 (renumbered, at least on the battery box doors, as B&O 9725 while on lease to the ATSF), ATSF GP30 3246 (ex-ATSF 1246), B&O GP40 4045 (also wearing new numbers, in this case 9045) and ATSF GP35 3332 (ex-ATSF 1332). With all the leased Chessie System power at this time, and their unusual temporary road numbers, it was a great time to railfan on the Santa Fe! (San Bernardino, California – October 28, 1979)
