In honor of VRS's 60th anniversary, Trains Magazine hosted a 2-day charter that used Green Mountain Railroad RS-1 #405, put back in it's original Rutland lettering, to run from Rutland to Bellows Falls on Saturday and Rutland to Burlington on Sunday. The Sunday trip hit a bit of a snag when it was realized that the 25mph limit on the #405, plus a 2 hour wait at Middlebury for Amtrak to pass by, would strain the limits of the crew's service hours and would force the elimination of photo runbys. Instead, this ex-SSW GP40-2 was added to the south end. It performs a runby at the former Rutland depot in Leicester.
