Holding at West Hobart, the western end of BNSF Railway's Hobart Yard, is Intermodal Stacks train S-LPCLHG1-12L, which originated at Chicago's Logistics Park and is now just 20 or so miles from its destination, Los Angeles Harbor's GGS facility. This train is powered by ES44DC 7217, Dash 9-44CW 4446, ES44C4 6616, Dash 9-44CW 5044 and ES44C4 8390. (Three units in Distributed Power Mode have already been removed from this train's rear end, as five units can easily take this 82 car, 7096-foot train the rest of the way, since there are no more serious grades it will encounter.) Off in the distance, passing this freight's rear end, is the headlight for Metrolink train 621, heading to Los Angeles Union Station from Oceanside. (Vernon, California – July 17, 2025)
