Remarks & Notes |
A five-car Alstom Coradia Continental 1440 of the Mitteldeutsche Regiobahn (MRB) is crossing the huge Göltzschtal viaduct near Netzschkau, running as train 74020 of the line RE3 from Dresden to Hof. Mitteldeutsche Regiobahn (MRB) is a brand of the railway companies Transdev Regio Ost (TDRO) and Bayerische Oberlandbahn (BOB), both of which belong to the French Transdev Group. They have 13 of the 3-car and 16 of the 5-car version of the Coradia Continental for the Hof-Dresden services. The doubletrack Göltzschtal viaduct on the Sachsen mainline between Hof and Leipzig/Dresden was built from 1846 to 1851 and is the world's largest brick-built viaduct, with a length of 574 meter and a maximum height of 78 meter. More then 26 mio of bricks were needed for the 4 levels, and the uppermost level has 29 arches. |
