Remarks & Notes
The Oberweißbacher Bergbahn, renamed the Thüringer Bergbahn in 2020,is a railway line in the Thuringian Slate Mountains, now operated by DB RegioNetz Verkehrs GmbH Oberweißbacher Berg- und Schwarzatalbahn. Since 1922, it has connected the Obstfelderschmiede stop on the Schwarzatal Railway with the municipality of Cursdorf. To overcome the height difference of more than 300 meters between the Schwarzatal valley and the plateau, a funicular railway with a gauge of 1800 mm was built from Obstfelderschmiede to Lichtenhain. From Lichtenhain to Cursdorf there is a standard gauge line electrified with 600 V DC. Train 29937 of the line RB61 left Cursdorf shortly, with leading 479 # 203 in front and # 205 in multiple control. The electric railcar 479 # 203 got a new revision on march, 20, 2025 in the DB Cargo AG Werk Halle. It was built in 1984 in Berlin Schöneweide as 279 # 203, officially as "reconstruction" of an old vehicle of 1909.
