The 8.991-kilometer-long 80-centimeter narrow-gauge Abt cog railway from Capolago on Lake Lugano (294 meters above sea level) to Generoso Vetta at 1,592 meters above sea level was opened in 1890. The steam locomotive H 2/3 # 2, built in 1890 by SLM in Winterthur, is ready in the depot of Capolago for the first 2025 public journey up to the Monte Generoso. The locomotive was revised by Martin Horath in Goldau last year, including the passenger car B # 2 of 1890.
