Remarks & Notes |
It would be wonderful if all SBB Re 4/4 II locomotives (now referred to as Re 420) looked like # 11193! The locomotive was delivered to SBB by SLM and MFO on December 2, 1970, and will soon have been in service for 55 years! In March 2023, the locomotive underwent an R1 overhaul at the Bellinzona industrial plant and has since been used primarily to pull the GOTTHARD PANORAMA EXPRESS. The locomotive also has the factory plates and type plates back on the side walls. It appears to have been washed recently and is in excellent visual condition. Re 4/4 II # 11193 (Re 420 # 193) roars out of the 1090-meter-long Leggistein spiral tunnel on the Gotthard North Ramp between Göschenen and Wassen at around 80 km/h with the PE 3092 GOTTHARD PANORAMA EXPRESS (Gopex) from Lugano to Arth Goldau via the Gotthard mountain route (now called the Panorama Route). |
