Bilbao-Abando is Bilbao's main railway station. It is located in the heart of the city, in the Abando neighborhood. The current railway terminal, monumental in character and classicist in style, was inaugurated in 1948 on the same grounds that housed the original station, opened in 1863. Inside, a large polychrome stained-glass window created by the Union of Glass Artists of Irún stands out, one of the city's notable symbols. The window has a varied theme, depicting various typical scenes from Biscayan society in the social, industrial, and sporting spheres. It also depicts emblematic places such as the Basilica of Begoña. The central part houses a clock with a Spanish coat of arms beneath it.
