Remarks & Notes
San Joaquin Valley Railroad GP40 440 was built by EMD in October 1966 as Milwaukee Road 197, later renumbered MILW 2023. Thanks to the bankruptcy of the MILW, the railroad was merged into Soo Line effective January 1, 1986, and thus this Geep became SOO 2023. Eventually, it would be sold to the Florida East Coast, becoming FEC 440, before heading west to the SJVR. (Goshen, California – July 26, 2015)
